The Women's March in NYC was one of the most exhilarating experiences I have ever had. Growing up in New York City, I've been to a number of marches and parades but this one had such an energy like no other. Seeing hundreds of thousands of people gather in solidarity for love, peace and equality for all is so powerful. There were so many different people present across generations and across cultures, it reminded me of how great of a consciousness we have as human beings, and as global citizens.
I am so grateful for the feminists, men and women, who have done this before me. As long as the same patriarchal, sexist, racist, system exists, we have to continue to resist.
We are all unique individuals who are capable of thinking for ourselves. We are not defined by or reduced to a shade on the color chart. We can't let old outdated ideas control our future! We all have the potential to create the world we want to live in.
What a time to be alive.
