Brooklyn, NY 2015
I have a trillion photos from Denver that I'm still editing almost 1 month later.
We went to Red Rocks Park and then took on a small hike up the geological overlook. The views were incredible and the weather was perfect.
I knew I'd get incredible landscape images here I was not disappointed. I really could have spent all day there taking pictures.
November 2015 - Denver, Colorado
An early morning walk to the beach.
This was our second year going to Wallkill, NY. We really, REALLY like this place, and our airbnb host, Melissa.
This place is definitely a great place to collect yourself and get away from the rest of the world.
Some buildings in New York City never cease to amaze me.
There was a beautiful location I shot in with a client that just blew my mind. It made me felt like I stepped into a time machine. I grabbed just a few snaps before I left of the sitting room and gorgeous spiral staircase.
I only saw parts of it but I'm sure the rest is just as dreamy.
This summer I am spending time between my apartment and a houseboat in Sheepshead Bay.
Living on a houseboat is actually not unlike living like a studio apartment in Manhattan. The quarters are just as small but the amenities are the same - like tiny kitchens (or kitchenettes) and bathrooms. But the best thing is having the whole top deck outdoor space.
The boat being in the location that it is, it feels pretty isolated and sometimes it doesn't feel like we are in civilization amongst others.
Our boat comes with a kayak so we've been doing small loops in Jamaica Bay. There is a ton of wildlife including all different types of birds and sea creatures.
There's a family of swans and ducks that make their way around the boat routinely at the same time everyday. It's pretty adorable and it's like living in a National Geographic show.
It's actually the perfect space to hold our Eco-Urban meetings, holding experiments and plotting world domination. ;)
I have a new found appreciation for black and white landscape images after looking through The Portfolios of Ansel Adams.
Shooting in color sometimes I forget to appreciate the simplicity that is the picture without any distractions. Some images feel like they become even more intimate in black and white.
His work inspired me to shoot a little black and white of my own:
A weekend in Plumb Beach
One of my favorite shoots from earlier this month features a beautifully decorated apartment in the Upper East Side. A wonderful collaboration between Irene and Agustin sourcing art and furniture making this apartment look ever so dreamy. And of course to bringing Payton in to add a stylist's touch.
It's been almost 2 months and my apartment is still in need of a lot of furnishing and decorating. I've been very patient waiting to collect and buy the things that I want for my home and not impulse shopping.
With that being said, having an almost empty space has its perks! I've been able to move things around and create sets within my living room.
Payton and I worked on this a few weeks ago - the painter's workspace. I liked the arrangement of the painting nook so much that I am keeping it this way. Too bad I couldn't keep the mud cloth but I think some good ol' canvas would do the trick.
I'm always a fan of seeing things displayed, especially when it comes to the kitchen. The dried goods look so nice and neat in their containers. It's also very practical.
Now if only I could make my kitchen look as organized as this...
There is something incredibly nice and calming about a decluttered and minimalist space.
Prop stylist - Gaddiel Lopez
It has been a busy few weeks with going to Austin for a few days and then moving apartments a few days after! I have never done so much cleaning and organizing in my life... and it's still going.
But, I finally got around to these images I shot with Gaddiel before I left town.
Autumn is one of the seasons I enjoy the most. This year I got a chance to go to Bear Mountain at the peak of the leaves changing. The view from the top (almost) was beautiful.
The hike up the mountain was an intense one given the fact that I am not the most active person. But I saw a girl in flats and another in wedge sneakers and I figured if they can do it in those shoes, I can do it. And I was not disappointed.
And I always like to listen to this song during this time of the year...
